1 Jun 2007 - Volunteers Week
Volunteers Week, from this Friday, is an ideal time to find out more about getting involved in your community.
"From befrienders and bookkeepers to website designers and wildlife watch leaders, we have a whole range of opportunities from which to choose," said Robert Bradshaw of Three Rivers Volunteer Centre.
"There is literally something for everyone out there.
"In particular, we would appeal for people who can drive a mini-bus or who would be interested in being a treasurer to contact us. There are many groups for whom finding volunteers to do this would be a huge bonus."
Volunteers Week is also a perfect time to thank all those who give so much time and energy to their community. From large events such as Ricky Week, which wouldn?t happen without volunteers, to the day to day activities of those who serve tea at the hospital, volunteers are vital to our community.
To find out what is available in your area just log onto to the www.do-it.org.uk website and type in your postcode or call Robert on 01923 711174.
