2 Feb 2007 - Health and Safety training day achieves results

Maintaining health and safety is a workplace is an issue we all need to consider and people from local organisations took advantage of a training day covering many of the issues.

The course coverd the syllabus of the new CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace including:
?ç legislation
?ç health
?ç safety
?ç welfare
?ç the workplace and workplace equipment
?ç risk assessment
?ç manual handling
?ç hazardous substances
?ç ergonomics and workstation design
?ç transport and vehicles
?ç noise and vibration
Candidates could choose to gain the qualification by taking a 1 hour multiple choice paper at the end of the day. Eleven people attended the course and 9 passed the exam.

This course was funded by Investing in Communities and Awards for All.

The training day was just one of a series of events open to community groups and members of the CVSs in Three Rivers and in Watford this winter and spring.
