5 Feb 2007 - Colne Valley Special Sailors benefit from Local Network Fund
Colne Valley Special Sailors' application to the Local Network Fund met with success recently when they were awarded £7,000.
The application was supported and encouraged by Mary Green of the CVS who is keen to increase the uptake of the Local Network Fund in Three Rivers.
The grant means the Special Sailors can buy a new boat and other equipment for the benefit of the young people who use its facilities.
The organisation, based at Bury Lake at the Aquadrome in Rickmansworth, provides the opportunity for young people with all types of disabilities to enjoy the freedom of sailing in specially designed, virtually uncapsizeable dinghies.
