5 Feb 2007 - West Hyde Youth Centre get plugged in thanks to Local Network Fund
West Hyde and Maple Cross Youth Centre are celebrating their award of £7,000 from the Local Network Fund.
The grant means they can carry out their plans to revamp the centre brightening it up and buying additional equipment for all to use.
Craig Osmond of the Centre said: " West Hyde Youth Centre was in need of a face-lift, so all of us that attend the club decided that we would love an internet cafe situated in the bar area, so we applied to the Local Network Fund and we were successful!"

The application to the Herts Community Foundation administered fund was supported and encouraged by Mary Green, executive director of the CVS.
Craig added: "With the £7,000 grant we can redecorate the coffee bar area, repair and update the lighting, buy new DJ equipment for us all to use, buy new furniture and have computers so we can research, create presentations and mainly be able to access the Internet.
"Overall this is fantastic news for the community and us young people as we'll all be able to learn new skills, socialise and mainly have a great time.
"We're really looking forward to using the new equipment and we're planning for it all to be completed by June 2007.
"West Hyde & Maple Cross Youth Centre would like to thank the Local Network Fund as they have made our dreams for the Youth Centre come true!"
