Residents of South Oxhey and Rickmansworth were able to browse through dozens of volunteering opportunities on their doorsteps as a bright red double decker bus stopped in their high streets.The event was part of a Hertfordshire wide campaign to mark Volunteers Week.
"This was an opportunity to show people just how varied the opportunities we have are," said Lynn Green, Volunteer Centre manager.
Representatives of MENCAP, Herts Hard of Hearing, Watford and Three Rivers Home-Start, School governors and ASCEND were among those who came to help out and promote their organisations direct to the public.
The day successfully attracted a number of people who wanted to find out more about volunteering and Lynn will be following them up over the coming days.
