Each Children's Centre will mainly serve their local community and will have a named Lead Agency. The Lead Agency can be any organisation delivering children's services.
"This is an exciting opportunity to be a leader in the development of integrated early years services for local communities in Hertfordshire," said Helen Ashdown, Head of Sure Start, Hertfordshire County Council.
There are currently six designated Children's Centres in the county, a further 44 are planned to be established by March 2008.
